Aux Interface Module is used on Sundancer boats that have the generator option. It acts as a third keypad on the EIM bus and converts traditional rocker switches to EIM commands to turn dedicated circuits on or off. This is commonly used with the generator option since Sea-Ray installs a rocker switch in the cabin next to the generator control panel to turn on the blower before starting the generator. The following circuits can be controlled based on which connectors are connected to external rocker switches:
J2 – Compartment Lights (Comp)
J3- Arch Lights
J4- Cockpit Lights
J5 – Blower (factory default with generator option)
Common Failures
This module is connected inline between the front EIM and the starboard switch panel. Two common failures are seen:
- If the keypad fails and shorts out it can also take out the aux interface module. In this case the starboard keypad will no longer have +12V on the connector.
- The module can send intermittent false commands and turn lights on or off.
The Aux Interface Module can by temporarily bypassed to see if it as fault and needs to be replaced. See Aux Interface Module Bypass Procedure
